I am an interior designer with a strong interest in Sustainability, historical and cultural designs. I am interested in interior design as it allows for creative expression to have a positive impact on other people’s lives. I’m interested in using environmentally friendly, alternative technology and materials. I have an interest in Japanese designs, especially their use of timber, paper and tatami, to create simple but comfortable environments that use environmentally friendly materials.
Throughout my studies as an interior design student, I’ve been able to gain and develop my skills in Vectorworks, Adobe (Photoshop and InDesign), Blender and AutoCAD, alongside technical hand drawing and model making. I am particularly interested in the life and history of the building which often impacts my design decisions.
When designing I think about the user experience, how they will use and move throughout the space. I enjoy developing design ideas from the initial research through to the final outcome, ensuring that each project responds thoughtfully and creatively to the brief. I like to experiment with my ideas as it allows me to expand my skill set and creativity, even if it doesn’t end up working out. I enjoy a challenge, working around difficulties and problem solving.
I want to develop my skills and abilities in a working environment. I enjoy working within a team as it allows for good communication and idea development. Working alongside others feels like being part of a community.
